Spectra Matt Sunblock Review — Inertia Skincare
I have been in search for a perfect sunscreen for my routine and my criteria’s for the best sunscreen are:
1. Should be affordable (since the amount required to be applied for its listed spf is a lot per day therefore it needs to be affordable)
2. Doesn’t look tacky or greasy on my already greasy skin.
3. Non-comedogenic
4. No reaction, stinging or burning eyes after few hours
Spectra Matt by @myjenpharm costs around Rs. 1200 in Pakistan. Compared to other local sunscreens it is expensive but compared to international sunscreens its alright. I honestly don’t mind paying Rs. 1200 for sunscreen. However, the quantity you get with this product is extremely low. There is no way this sunscreen is going to last more than 10 days if used appropriately.
The texture of this sunscreen is kind of different than anything I ever used, its curdle-ey and almost ghee like texture was a bit weird at first but it spreads well on the skin. My only problem with this sunscreen is that if we apply the amount that is required which is 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon on face and neck, I always feel like I dipped my face in oil bucket, extremely greasy and oily. Even after 1 hour of application it sits on my skin and make me look like a grease bucket but if I only use a pea size amount then it looks fine but I am not sure if I should be using only pea sized amount. This sunscreen doesn’t make any sense.
I can attest to the fact that it is noncomedogenic, I never felt like it clogged my pores, i did not get any breakouts or comedones. Also this is probably the only sunscreen that worked well on my beard area.
It also did not sting or burn.
So my final result, I will not be repurchasing this again, for dry skin this might be good, but for oily skin it can be a nightmare if used appropriately. I don’t want to look like a grease ball during the day in front of others. My search for a perfect sunscreen continues.
A hard pass from me.
